As most RS owners know, if you're going for big power then a 5" intake system is a must. 

We are proud to dive head-first into the DAZA platform with a 5" titanium intake that's earned the Omega name we've become known for.

 

A Perfect Fit

Anything worth doing is worth doing right, so we designed our 5" titanium intake system to look and fit like OEM. Everything from the intake duct to the heat shield and massive intake tube look right at home in your engine bay.

 

Anti-Pressure Drop

While your upgraded turbo inlet has a 4 inch diameter, the inlet itself is very short. Due to the length of the intake on the RS3/TTRS platform, reducing pressure drop between the filter and turbo inlet is more critical than on other platforms.

Our 5" setup relieves pressure drop and allows your turbo to breathe, freeing up power while running a lower wastegate duty cycle! That means a lower pressure ratio, less stress on the turbo and room for more boost.

 

Titanium... why?

The decision to go with CP1 titanium was not one we took lightly. Titanium is not a cheap material to work with, but ignoring the benefits of this aerospace material was not something we could overlook.

Titanium is what we like to call "functionally beautiful". Aside from being one of the most lightweight metals available, titanium has a very low heat transfer rate (16 W/m-K) compared to aluminum (152 W/m K), which means it is highly resistant to heat transfer from the engine bay. Intake temperatures play a key role in power production in forced induction engines. 

 

 

In addition to its excellent thermal properties, titanium has a much higher strength-to-weight ratio than aluminum, meaning that much thinner tubing can be used in our intakes. This means larger internal diameters when compared to aluminum with the same outer diameter. Our 5" titanium intake, as a result, boasts a 5% increase in intake area when compared to a 5" aluminum intake. A higher strength-to-weight ratio also means lighter parts.

 

Thoughtful Heat Shield Design

We took special care when designing our heat shield/air duct to prioritize the availability of fresh air. Our heat shield is designed to mate up perfectly to the edge of our large air duct, forcing air directly toward the filter. We further improved airflow by leaving the area behind the headlight unobstructed, allowing for the use of a headlight duct for a more direct air feed on the track. 

We also know that a large number of our clients will be running upgraded throttle elbows, so we made sure to design our heat shield to clear even the largest aftermarket options!
