We are in the middle of a large design change for these reservoirs; the first major update since 2017! The current ETA is touch-and-go due to the nature of the changes, but we will post updates and target times below this message as we progress:

Feb 23 - We have finished milling & lasering the new caps and have paired them up with their "mated" bung. We are currently adding the brackets that make them vehicle-specific, and expect to have them out to coating by the end of February. If the new coating choice pairs well, we expect to start shipping out the new kits by mid-March.

 
Changes for V2:

  • We’ve made the caps male threaded, increasing the pitch and depth to make screwing/unscrewing less of a chore. The female can threads will also help with leakage during cap removal, and due to the new positive stop design, the o-rings will no longer be able to be damaged due to over-tightening.
  • The cans will be acid etched & anodized now, which means we can coat them inside and out, including the threads, for better corrosion protection from the unknown quality of water that gets put into these systems.
  • 1/8” NPT fittings will no longer be tapped directly into the side of the can, but instead there will be a full-depth bung welded to each one to improve consistency.

 

As of 2024, all of our kits will now include an upper bleeder port for direct connection to compatible heat exchangers! This small change means that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of a self-bleeding HX. If your HX is not self-bleeding, this port can be capped.

 

Audi’s supercharged V6 is a powerhouse when tuned properly, but the cooling system remains a restriction to how much power can be made before the heat takes over. Even with the addition of heat exchangers and additional reservoirs, the cooling system for the supercharger system relies on hot engine coolant as its source. 

Our upper coolant reservoir was introduced in 2017 to divorce your vehicle's cooling systems, providing your supercharger with its own dedicated coolant circuit. Now its newest revision is in full production and available for installation into your B8.5 S4/S5!
